DeleteAs per NFHS, 2019-20, the number of women has increased to 1012 per 1000 men in the state of Assam which is better than the National sex ratio of 108.18 males per 100 females as on Jan 2021. There is no dowry system in Assam and the society is more progressive as far as women's development is concerned though patriarchal stereotypes do exist and violence against women sometimes is highlighted in the media.
DeleteAs per thecebsus men are more than women ....approxmately 80: 100 for every 100 men 80 women are there.moatly in uneducated and illetarate people do not accept girl baby to give birth because Boy baby in future they may be helpful in their work load to share where as a girl baby may not be helpful ....this is the reason they had in their minds
ReplyDeleteMales are more than females in my district. Reason could be the general preference for boys. However, changes are gradually coming in.
DeleteThis difference is due to social thinking and society. But, yes,now things are changing due to the various steps taken by the government like making laws and making aware the citizens
ReplyDeleteMen are little more
ReplyDeleteBoth the male and the female have equal role in family and the society
ReplyDeleteIt is an important and useful indicator to assess relative excess of deficit of men or women in a given population at that point of time.It is necessary that males and females in the population balance each other in number.
ReplyDeleteSocietal thinking, dowry
ReplyDeleteThe reason for the poor performance of the state in terms of sex ratio is preference for the male child. This in turn leads to induced abortion of the female foetus. Our society still thinks men to be capable of earning and carrying on the family's name while daughters are seen as burdens who are to be married off at the right time to a suitable groom after giving adequate dowry. This is still the mindset of most of the people of our country ( both literate as well as the illiterate).
ReplyDeleteThere are biological differences among male and female let not be a division among them. We should respect identity of each.
ReplyDeleteThe poor performance of sex ratio is due to sex discrimination and preference for the male child.

ReplyDeleteSex ratio is increasing in my state infamous for gender discrimination. the positive growth is attributed to education and gender equality awareness among people.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for the poor sex ratio is mainly because of the mindset, illiteracy and social preference for the male child. This in turn leads to crime against females, gender discrimination and induced abortion of the female foetus. The society still thinks only males to be capable of earning and carrying on the family's name while daughters are seen as burdens. But increasing sex ratio in recent years is attributed to education and gender equality awareness among people.

ReplyDeletesex ratio is good, but still gender discremination is there
ReplyDeleteThe Census data of the sex ratio my district is appropriate to the gender ratio with male . whenI compare it with the national sex ratio. I found differet due to sex equality. I think there are the many reasons for the good or poor performance in my district/state in terms of sex ratio.
ReplyDeleteBy and large female foeticide rate is very low and opportunity to girl child education is improving.
ReplyDeleteThe justification for the helpless sex proportion is fundamentally a direct result of the attitude, ignorance and social inclination for the male youngster. This thus prompts wrongdoing against females, sexual orientation separation and incited early termination of the female baby. The general public actually believes just guys to be fit for acquiring and carrying on the family's name while little girls are viewed as weights. However, expanding sex proportion as of late is credited to schooling and sexual orientation uniformity mindfulness among individuals.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio of Kerala is 1084 females to 1000Males .compared to National sex ratio 909 females to 1000 males ..Kerala state has highest literacy rate in India with 94% compared to the national average of 74%. Kerala's sex ratio of 1084 females to 1000 males, is higher than that of the rest of India.
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteThe better performance in terms of sex ratio of my state is mainly due to the higher literacy rate ,besides the culture of women participating with men in festivals, occasions etc. The awareness that girls can contribute as much as the boys is rooted in its culture. Both schools and homes provide opportunities for both girls and boys to nurture well. Panchayati Raj institutions have further strengthened and made women decision makers and self reliant. This trickles into the families and society at large !
ReplyDeleteLack of education is the main reason for adverse sex ratio.
ReplyDeleteVariation in sex ratio is due to preference of male child over female child ,social stereotyping and lack of education

ReplyDeleteIn Kokata in the last census there are 899 females per 1000 males. The difference is due to lack education and awareness among the people. Now there is a positive sense among the people to maintain the ratio.
ReplyDeleteThis in turn leads to crime against females, gender discrimination and induced abortion of the female foetus. The society still thinks only males to be capable of earning and carrying on the family's name while daughters are seen as burdens. But increasing sex ratio in recent years is attributed to education and gender equality awareness among people.
ReplyDeleteIn my state sex ratio is normal .Number of female is more than number of male .It is a good sign .There is no gender discrimination due to high literacy rate and social awareness.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio is poor in my state than National sex ratio. Gender discrimination is due to poor literacy and poverty and lack of social awareness.
ReplyDeletesex ratio increased in last 5 years due to social awareness and promotion of girl education
ReplyDeleteAs per Census 2011 data the National Sex Ratio was 943 females per 1000 males. In the same Census data the sex ration in my home state of Jammu & Kashmir was above the national average at 952. However it is not in favour of females both in my home state as well as in the country. The silver lining though has been that the sex ratio has been on a rise since the census figures of 2001. The steady favourable changes in the stereotypical mindset of the society have resulted in this gradual increase in the sex ratio.
ReplyDeleteThere is a narrow difference in sex ratio . In urban places where education ,exposure to media and digital world is maximum and men are enjoying the financial burden being shared by their partners ...the values are changing ,perspectives are changing ,,house work is less of a tabboo ...but the same place where female is not the earning member the views change ... females if earning and contributing to sharing the financial burden is welcome everywhere slow domination of the female is overtaking male domination in every field a day will come when men will begin to demand reservation on basis of gender
ReplyDeleteMale as well as Females have equal role in all aspects in our society
ReplyDeleteThe performance of Assam is better than the national ratio due to more gender equality .
ReplyDeleteThe best sex ratio prevails in Kerala; rather for 1000 males, the females are more than 1000. It indicates that people in general are well aware of its social implications. More importantly, married females have more freedom to opt a child whether Male or female and no forced female feticide. This may be because of high awareness in areas like social, ethical, cultural as well as mind set of people.
ReplyDeleteAs per details from Census 2011, Orissa has population of 4.2 Crores, an increase from figure of 3.68 Crore in 2001 census. Total population of Orissa as per 2011 census is 41,974,218 of which male and female are 21,212,136 and 20,762,082 respectively. The total population growth in this decade was 14.05 percent while in previous decade it was 15.94 percent. The population of Orissa forms 3.47 percent of India in 2011. In 2001, the figure was 3.58 percent.Sex ratio is 979.It is clearly showing a decline in female child may be due to as the expectation of male children becomes important
ReplyDeleteThe poor performance of sex ratio is due to sex discrimination and preference for the male child. In urban places where education ,exposure to media and digital world is maximum and men are enjoying the financial burden being shared by their partners. the values are changing ,perspectives are changing ,,house work is less of a tabboo but the same place where female is not the earning member the views change. females if earning and contributing to sharing the financial burden is welcome everywhere slow domination of the female is overtaking male domination in every field a day will come when men will begin to demand reservation on basis of gender
ReplyDeleteDue to some social evil like dowry and patriarchal mindset the male child is preferred and people do not go for second child if first one is male, this is the reason for poor sex ratio in my state.
ReplyDeleteDiscrimination on the basis of sex is unacceptable
ReplyDeleteSon idolisation, female foeticide, patriarchal society.,women treated as secondary citizens ,illiteracy all are responsible for the poor performance of our district in terms of set ratio.
ReplyDeleteAs per the census men are more than women for every 100 men are 85 women and mostly uneducated and illeterate people do not accept the birth of a girl because Boys baby in future will carry their legacy and share the work load where as a girl is not thought to be that helpful. The mind set need to be changed. Only education will not help.
ReplyDeleteIt is happen in Indian society , But now a days condition are changing .
ReplyDeletePoor sex ratio is fundamentally as result of the attitude, ignorance and social inclination for the male youngster.
ReplyDeleteThe sex ratio in Maharashtra at birth stands at 913 girls/1000 boys as per NFHS-4. This poor sex ratio is because of social thinking of the people.
ReplyDeleteThe poor sex ration and literacy rates is mainly due to lack of awareness among people.
ReplyDeleteThe sex ratio in Kerala is favourable and equal to that of Japan. It is only because of high literacy rate and education and also women empowerment
ReplyDeleteAs per NFHS, 2019-20, the number of women has increased to 1012 per 1000 men Due to some social evil like dowry and patriarchal mindset the male child is preferred and people do not go for second child if first one is male, this is the reason for poor sex ratio In urban places where education ,exposure to media and digital world is maximum and men are enjoying the financial burden being shared by their partners. the values are changing ,perspectives are changing ,,house work is less of a tabboo but the same place where female is not the earning member the views change
ReplyDeletesex ratio of different states are very different. the states are which good education there sex ration is good.
ReplyDeleteits due to lack of awareness . and our thought process.
even educated people believe in these discrimination.
Sex ratio in my state is 929 females per 1000 males in 2021. It is still observed that the number of females are less compared to the number of males in both the state and the nation as a whole.Though the gap has reduced between the two from the past years but still the equality is yet to be reached.Dowry problems, social taboo, gender bias , financial problems etc are some of the reasons for this continuing gap.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio in my states is quite good in respect to national sex ratio.Education plays an important role in it.
ReplyDeleteNot much difference in the two sexes.
ReplyDeleteIt requires to change in mind set to family child, not by male or female discrete. Poor section of families look child by male in particular, is a big problem to change their views on Bata only.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio in my state is very high. Thanks to the education process and enlightenment of people about importance of girl child and that all activities that can be women perffectly.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio of a region may depend on social factors. In many parts of our country parents like to have at least one male child. But having at least one girl child is not considered as a choice.
ReplyDeleteSome of the doctors may be performing the illegal Ultrasonic test for determining the sex of the foetus for earning. This leads to female foeticide. This results in lower number of female births, hence low female sex ratio.
The society still thinks only males to be capable of earning and carrying on the family's name while daughters are seen as burdens. But increasing sex ratio in recent years is attributed to education and gender equality awareness among people
ReplyDeleteEducation has played a very important role in bridging the gap.Equality and same opportunities, will be the game changer.
ReplyDeleteGender bias and fad that boys are better is responsible for it.
ReplyDeleteits very close to the national sex ratio but mind set needs to be changed further.
ReplyDeleteStill there is difference in the ratio between male and female.but days come like the parents are switching their minds to feel that both gender are equal
ReplyDeleteAs per the official data the sex ratio of UP is was 894 females per 1000 males. In the same year National ratio was to 934 girls per 1000 boys .The slight decrease from national ratio is due to the overemphasis on male child in many communities. I asked my gardener why he had gone for fourth child .He answered that first three were daughters so he had to go for fourth which luckily was a boy.I told him if you were a king of some country and succession rules would allow only boys to inherit the kingdom then it was understandable but you are hardly able to make ends meet then boy or girl hardly matters. He had no convincing answer.
ReplyDeleteIn my region sex ratio of women is lower than national sex ration. I think main reason is lower education rate for women, gender stereotypes and patriarchy.
ReplyDeleteThis difference is due to social thinking and society. But, yes,now things are changing due to the various steps taken by the government like making laws and making aware the citizens. Both the male and female are equal role in family and the society.
ReplyDeleteIn our area sex ratio of men are little more than female.
ReplyDeleteGhaziabad has a sex ratio of 878 females for every 1000 males, and a literacy rate of 85%.As per Census 2011, the Gender ratio of India is 943 females per 1000 males. I think this difference is due to society thinking and social thinking that male child will increase his heredity.
ReplyDeleteIt is due to sex discrimination
ReplyDeleteThere is not much difference in the sex ratio because of good literacy rate, awareness among people and existence of nuclear families.
ReplyDeleteIn my state sex ratio is lower than national average because of illiteracy and lower eduation rate.
ReplyDeleteIn my state the male population is slightly more but females are increasing gradually due to education.
ReplyDeleteMenfolks play masculine while womenfolks give away faminie roles.
ReplyDeleteThough the sex ratio of female to male is a bit low in the state as compared to the national level, but the people are very considerate to increase the same in the state by following beti bachao beti padhao campaign of govt.
ReplyDeleteThe Sex Ratio (Male to Female) of Sukma, C.G. is 1017:1000. It is Good figure in the light of Literacy Level which very low (29% Literacy rate). But you can see the data of Well educated state like Punjab, Haryana and others which give us sign that the social structure and view of society impact more on the issues rather then Literacy.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for the poor sex ratio is mainly because of the mindset, illiteracy and social preference for the male child in our indian society especially. This in turn leads to crime against females, gender discrimination and induced abortion of the female foetus. The society still thinks only males to be capable of earning and carrying on the family's name while daughters are seen as burdens. But increasing sex ratio in recent years is attributed to education and gender equality awareness among people.

ReplyDeleteSex ratio is used to describe the number of females per 1000 of males. Sex ratio is a valuable source for finding the population of women in India and what is the ratio of women to that of men in India. In the Population Census of 2011 it was revealed that the population ratio in India 2011 is 940 females per 1000 of males. The Sex Ratio 2011 shows an upward trend from the census 2001 data. Census 2001 revealed that there were 933 females to that of 1000 males
ReplyDeleteThe reason for the poor performance of the state in terms of sex ratio is desire for the male child. This in turn leads to induced abortion of the female foetus. Our society still thinks men to be capable of earning and carrying on the family's name while daughters are seen as burdens who are to be married off at the right time to a suitable groom after giving adequate dowry. ReplyDeleteThank you

ReplyDeletePeople still are prejudiced .They follow the stereotype. Birth of a baby boy is rejoiced. Even among some educated class. Attitude to change.
Although the mind set is still difficult to change but the coming generations do not believe in gender discrimination
ReplyDeleteIts 932 in the state of Telangana, which is 8 less than national ratio, which is a negligible difference. Female are more productive force in the state of telangana.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite good in Gujarat
ReplyDeleteAll are born with equal qualities. There is no barrier for gender, but gender discriminatory society has made the gap. All should be given equal opportunities.

This is still the mindset of most of the people of our country
ReplyDeleteThe reasons behind poor sex ratio is basically the lack of education and awareness
ReplyDeleteIllegal practice of female foeticide is prevalent in small towns. Even educated people are using these illegal services. Uneducated mind set is the reason.
ReplyDeleteShould be improved
ReplyDeleteThe difference in sex ratio is due to social perception of the society. But now things are changing slowly and slowly due to the various effective steps taken by the government, running awareness programs and many more.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost the same . Iam glad to see that. It's good for nature's evolution.
ReplyDeleteI n our area, the difference of ratio is due to illiteracy and poverty
ReplyDeleteSex Ratio according to 2011 Census data is 926 /1000 in Satna ( M.P.) against 940/1000 foe India
ReplyDeleteSatna fares poorly because of societal norms, lack of quaity education facilities, caste factor etc.
The sex ratio in Telangana is 953:1000. It improved a lot because of awareness among individuals. Though male population outnumbered female but still there is less gender discrimination when compared with other states. Still many people don't want a girl child in the family. They are sold off or given away to others to avoid upbringing of them.
ReplyDeleteIn my district there is great need for improvement in sex ratio. Stereotype thought of the society are responsible for this.

ReplyDeleteAs per Sensex in my state the sex ratio is 1089 women for 1000 men. The state always give importance to women education and was a matriarchal family for ages. Now, its patriarchal, eventhough women gets equal importance in inheritance, education etc.
With increasing sensitisation and concern about the girl children, in my state the gap between the male and female population has decreased remarkably. More over as on date the craze for a by child in the family or the past belief has reduced. Couples are equally happy with girl children. Though in some states the ration need to improve, I do believe that within few years, our country will be gender sensitised.
ReplyDeleteit is nearly same in my district still the desire to have a baby boy is more however the situation is changing and lets hope for the best.
ReplyDeletesex ratio is little more for males compared to woman. government is trying its best to increase girls ratio. change is observed.
ReplyDeleteVariation in sex ratio is due to preference of male
ReplyDeleteSex ratio in my state is below national sex ratio. Reason for this may be the mentality that male offspring is necessary to continue linage, males support families, girl child has to be married which costs a lot etc.

ReplyDeleteIn my region sex ratio of women is lower than national sex ration. I think main reason is lower education rate for women, gender stereotypes and MIGRATION FROM OTHER STATE
ReplyDeleteEven though sex ratio was quite poor within my state a few years back education and importance of gender equality has improved the sex ratio of my state considerably.
ReplyDeleteit is almost similar in my state, the government has taken many encouraging programmes to promote girl child schooling and college education and scheme to deposit amount in case a female child is born..there a need to change the attitude of people toward females.
ReplyDeleteMy state has the highest literacy rate and highest sex ratio both are connected, and there is no distinction between girl child and the boy child for a parent on an average. Education of themasses and the societal attitude are the reasons
ReplyDeleteIn Kerala, for 1000 males, there are more than 1000 females. It indicates that people in general are well aware of its social implications. More importantly, married females have more freedom to opt for a child -whether male or female, it does not matter. There is no forced female foeticide. Both male and female children are welcomed equally in every family. The prevailing dowry system, if wiped out completely, will make things much better. This sort of a discrimination is absent may be because of the 100% literacy rate which creates high awareness in areas like social, ethical, cultural, mental outlook of the people here.
ReplyDeleteGOOD EDUCation and awareness awakening of masses alone can balance the ratios
ReplyDeleteIn my district there are more number of women than men. But the same is not the case in other parts of my country. It is due the difference in the educational standards and literacy rate. My district achieved the target of 100% literacy in the nineties. People are aware that boys and girls are to be treated with equal rights. Difference in number of literate population is the main reason for the difference in gender nartion of my district and rest of the nation.

ReplyDeleteUttar Pradesh Sex Ratio
Sex Ratio in Uttar Pradesh is 912 i.e. for each 1000 male, which is below national average of 940 as per census 2011. In 2001, the sex ratio of female was 898 per 1000 males in Uttar Pradesh. The main reason is today also female foeticide is being practised for the sake of male child.
Sex Ratio in Uttarakhand is 963 females for 1000 male, which is above national average of 940 as per census 2011. The main reason for this skewness is female foeticide, illiteracy and prevailing social mindset.
ReplyDeleteIn my state of Haryana the sex ratio is poor because of social reason of gender bias
ReplyDeleteSex Ratio in Gujarat is 919 Females per 1,000 Males which is below National Average of 940 Females per 1,000 Males as per Census 2011.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio in Rajasthan is less than national average because people prefer to have boy child as they consider girl as a weaker sex. Dowry problem is another reason of preferring male child.
ReplyDeleteSex ratio in my state Rajasthan is good and people do not discriminate .
ReplyDeleteGender ratio is better compared to the national ratio but the attitude need to e much more supportive.
ReplyDeleteits good to learn

ReplyDeleteThere is not much difference in the sex ratio because of good literacy rate, awareness among people.
ReplyDeleteLevel of happiness on the birth of a male child is much higher than that on the birth of a female child..this disparity is there since time immemorial in India. This became worst with female foeticide.
