  13. The outcome of an experience depends on a person’s interests, motivation, life circumstances at
that time, needs, and prior experiences and knowledge Field trips offer an
opportunity to motivate and connect students to appreciate and understand classroom concepts,
which increase a student’s knowledge foundation, promoting further learning and higher level

A successful and quality field trip requires teacher preparation and interaction. Some
factors should be addressed before the trip. The experience needs to be planned. The teacher
should previsit the venue to meet the staff and arrange the activities, and then prepare the
students by orienting them to the venue’s layout, activities, and expectations. Student groupings
should be set up prior to arrival at the venue

  74. Thanks to Government of India and our Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Damodar Das Modiji for introducing National Education Policy 2020. Yes indeed radical changes are going to take place in the field of Education. Vocationalisation of Education by integrating the Vocational Education with the General Education in order to enhance the employability opportunities of the young children and to reduce the mismatch between demand and supply of skilled manpower and to provide an alternative for those pursuing higher education. The concept of Vocationalisation of education has been the key concept since Woods Despatch 1854. Many Committees and commissions have been set up by the Government of India. But a few elders in our system are not serious about this change. There are many constraints in the field of education.
    1. No proper infrastructure in a School to accommodate 45 to 50 students and to teach the Practical skills.
    2. The teachers who possess Vocational knowledge are not utilized properly. They are being misused. I mean to say their services are not utilized to streamline the Vocationalisation of Education.

    4. Equipment/tools are required to teach the skills.

Solution- Plan well. Proper planning requires a lot of time too. Reputable student tour companies also use local, professional tour guides on all trips, and professional tour managers on all overnight tours. These travel professionals handle logistics and make for smooth hotel check-ins, attraction visits, etc.
The best solution to this problem is talking to someone who knows a lot about your destination/ site.

    3) Educational aspects - how far the visit to the site is useful, is to be evaluated.

Solution - Read many reviews before making a decision, and read them skeptically. It’s not as good as counsel from a longtime tour operator, but taking the time to do thorough research online can improve your trip.

    4) Time Management is crucial.

Solution - Always build in extra time as transportation always takes a bit longer than one would think.
Add an extra 30 minutes to the itinerary for eating, checking in & out of accommodation sites etc.

    5) Engaging students - if left free and unmonitored even for a little time, there are chances of unexpected issues.

Solution - sufficient staff and student leaders for monitoring.

    6) Transportation - very important.

Solution - Call well experienced and reliable transport companies.

    7) Safety of students - a matter of concern.
Controlling the entire classroom in a new surrounding can also be a challenge.  It may be difficult for students to focus on the lesson if they are excited about spending a school day out of classroom.

Solution - Proper monitoring is the only solution. Create awareness among students too regarding self safety.

    8) Weather - adverse weather can create issues.

Solutions - Plan the field trips to safe areas. See and assess weather conditions at the site and on the way.

9)Collecting parental consent is an issue, sometimes.

Solution - Discuss and convince the parents about the advantages, necessity and how crucial a role these play in academic side too.

    10) Student control.
It may be difficult to enforce rules on a field trip and foster a valuable learning experience since students may be tempted to wander away from the group, misbehave on the bus or even become loud at the museums / such sites.

Solution - Proper instructions before the trip and engaging reliable student leaders to exercise peer control, apart from constant monitoring by teachers.Sufficient staff must be deployed for all these field trips.
