Keeping the innate talent, interest and strength of the child in mind, different activities should be conducted to transmit information. Having said that, for Inclusive education to be a reality the syllabus should also be designed in a manner to cater to the diverse needs and abilities of children.

It should endeavour to refine the capabilities and abilities of children. There should be scope of development of inherent qualities of children. There should be involvement of parents also in the development of curriculum.

ReplyDeleteCan you imagine a mango tree with same size of fruits similarly can you imagine a family with each member look alike but one thing you all will agree in both cases despite being not similar in the former case each mango beautify the tree and gives it wholesomeness and in the the latter case each member makes the family a unique.It is clear from these two example is we must apply the same in schools which have different classrooms and it makes a meaning to the School also so why not the similar phenomenon continue for a class where we expect the students should be perfect bodily or mentally.If God has created someone with a bit of impairedness he or she has alk rights to be in a place where he or she should be as per his or her age or state.Who are we to sagrigate the students from a classes or schools with some impairedness.He or she has all rights of getting education or development of skills to go for a happy and meaningful life.

ReplyDeleteI will never prefer a garden with same kind of flowers there will be no excitement for seeing the whole garden if I am told that this garden is very big and same flowers are there.There is no creativity,enthusiasm,innovation involved.Similarly in a school if we have students of same mental status then the teacher has nothing challenging to prove his intellect,creativity and innovation.
ReplyDeleteAnd second thing is if the creator has not made anything same in all manner.Everyone possess some merits and demerits.Some are bodily weak or strong while some are mentally weak or strong.Therefore we are not supposed to sagrigate students if one has any physical or mental impairedness under acceptable limits.Therefore inclusive education is very much required and important to provide equal growth and opportunity to all individuals.It is everyone's right.

Only then the curriculum in true sense will be able to facilitate learning and offer for all round development of the learners coming from diverse backgrounds and with individual differences. Every child is exceptional and talented in their own way. Inclusiveness is what educators require. For most, children with special needs are cared less but this is where special focus is to be given. Pedagogic strategies should be targeted towards enriching learning experience by the students of different learning abilities. Assessment of the students should be based on varied and holistic parameters rather than depending on pen paper test as the only yardstick of measuring knowledge knowledge, skills and other abilities. Varied opportunities should be provided to the students to express their potential.

DeleteDuring the pandemic, I learned the use of various platforms like google meet, zoom, whats app, you tube videos, Diksha app, O-labs, google forms, google class room, and successfully implemented these in my regular classroom teaching learning process to achieve the target. I remained in touch with parents and children telephonically too. Precautionary Guidelines from higher authorities are also shared with them to beat covid-19 successfully. Successful in setting healthy emotional bond with children. Children participated in various activities like Science exhibition, NCSC, Inspire award, Quizes, Sports, yoga and other co curricular activities besides fruitful achievement in academics.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all we need to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our students, then guide him/her in a way so as to further their strengths. Students should not be condemned for their low performance in their weak areas but to be encouraged to go ahead in their strong areas.

Instead of judging the children on the basis of their lacuna, we need to appreciate their deeds and polish their skills. Different activities, curriculum, syllabus must be designed for different students with different needs and desires.
Every child is a different one with some special talent. No two students can be judged on the basis of same criterion. Different ways to be adopted for every individual student.

ReplyDeleteChildren come from diverse backgrounds and they may differ from one another in their physical abilities, mental capacity and even have different styles of learning but they enjoy all the privileges together. They remain in the same classroom; participate in all the activities of learning as other children do.
As per right to education act (RTE) in India, no school can reject admission to any child on any grounds of discrimination and children are not to be segregated or labeled at any point of time before or after admission. Each class room has to be an inclusive class room welcoming all types of learners and allow them to participate in different learning activities.
Every individual is unique. Each child is having natural aptitude and interest so he should be motivated to learn skills to enhance his learning without the pressure of performance.Curriculum should be designed to make every student to utilise his potential to the fullest and apply his learnings in everyday life

ReplyDeleteChildren differ in their abilities, interests and capabilities. They cannot be excellent in every sphere of life. A bachelor in many is master of none. Teacher and parents have an important role to identify child's strong area and help him/her to nurture it to the maximum.
Child himself/herself may think/ observe the self regarding his/her strength & weakness.
Each one has got some specific characteristics and innate qualities. School must recognise them and try to sharpen these skills so that children may enjoy their schooling. There is need to change the curriculum of schooling where all subjects are made compulsory to study. All children can not be good all sphere of life. Besdes, Students and parents are to be counselled and guided for their future course of study/activity.

Students can talk about whether they felt included in the classroom culture. This can help identify issues or ways to improve the overall experience. It’s also an opportunity to discuss their progress in the class and offer guidance on how they can improve, based on their individual needs as a student.

ReplyDeleteEach Child is special and unique. Assessing of children should be done with reference to the individual differences too. one scale of measurement don't fit all. Hence during teaching different kinds of opportunities should be given to each one so that each child can learn with his or her own pace. The understanding of all students should be ensured by teachers in classrooms. All the children do not follow the same pace in learning so the teacher has to ensure mastery of content by giving necessary time and help to each child.

Three hour examination , evaluation and marks do not really assess the potential of students, it assess the cognition not application of skills. Assessment criteria has to be modified to evaluate the achievements of the objectives of the curriculum.

ReplyDeleteNot only every child is different, even being a society we need people of different abilities. so it's not acceptable to guide every child in one way by suppressing their in born qulities and their choice of interests. now a days teachers are no more teachers, but they are the facilitaters. so being a teacher its our responsiblity to build a great nation by allowing the children to learn to their capabilities and interest over the targets

There is this expression in English "horses for courses" which you know means right man for the right job. Like you ask a Kohli to sing like a Mohammed Rafi or Kishore Kumar you are being unreasonable because each individual has his own forte and Achille' heel. So also students can't show flair for every subject simply because that isn't possible. A teacher should accept this reality then no student will be a pariah in his classroom!

Each of us is different likewise the students we teach are also different and unique. They need special attention and should me motivated to pursue their passion and interest. If a teacher finds out what interests more to a student, then the teacher should have plan to utilize his or her interest fully. If this happens, the classroom will become inclusive in real sense.
